Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in popular television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles this Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
A Notable TV Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils throughout the years and it would be difficult to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared publicly.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
