During a commanding showing, England secured another victory against Albania, with several squad members turning in notable displays on the pitch.

Starting XI

The goalkeeper Not a save required before the break until called into action from Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. A sliding intervention against an Albanian attacker highlighted excellent reading of the game. 6/10

The debutant Challenged against the opposition's primary attacker in Hoxha. Started through the middle to begin with then shifted out wide after Saka came on. 7/10

John Stones Advanced into midfield with the ball at his feet, a familiar role before. On occasion seemed hesitant when carrying play with the experiment was shelved at half-time. 6

Dan Burn Always dangerous on corners and free-kicks, per usual, but may be another option for his teammate at the back instead of alongside him. A loose ball in the second half almost led to an opener from the visitors. 6

Nico O’Reilly One more composed showing from the rising star following his first cap against Serbia. Saka was unable to take full advantage of an exquisite flick over the Albania defence. His position looks secure at this stage. Seven

Adam Wharton A debut start in an England shirt. Slightly sloppy when playing out though his whipped deliveries caused problems. A handy game manager available to the manager to utilize against sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash tackle. Six

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free kicks were dangerous. Had freedom to drift in left midfield but was in an offside position as the pass came with a chance to score. Granted a merited rest on the hour mark. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a high role out wide and put in the hard yards. Showed flashes of quality and scuffed an attempt over. Withdrawn in the closing stages for Rogers, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Was presented with England’s top opening in the opening period, his effort excellently kept out by the Albanian keeper. With Quansah holding position, it fell to him to stretch the play out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas varied in quality. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his two more finishes in an England shirt. The first a typical poacher’s finish and his next a superb finish with his head after peeling away away from the opposition. Now 32, he’s only getting better and the side have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to make an impact from the left. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in by the midfielder yet Strakosha kept it out. Rashford had a greater an impact in his place. Five
